It only makes me like them more. It makes me proud for having been one – and that my daughter IS a Girl Scout now. I am going to go eat some Girl Scout cookies now.

Agreed. I don't know if they are trying to make me dislike them. But I support female empowerment and the concept of educating girls (or anyone that identifies themselves as such) about the issues affecting them.
So its run by a bunch of Liberals who most likely are using most of that money for the re-elections of the democratic party. Which is fine but I'm very happy I now know the truth because I do have 2 little girls and now there is no way I would let them join. Thank You
Right here with you, +Lynette Young – and with my wife, who's a service unit manager for GSA.
I'm confused.. is this supposed to positive or negative propaganda? Because points 1 and 3 do not belong in the same side if it is either.
+Colin Firth this actually came out by the people that are trying to boycott selling Girl Scout cookies. For the most part, it seemed to have backfired for a lot of people.
The fourth bullet made me laugh out loud. The sensible shoes, the uniform, all that cookie selling labor going to the common good! I should have seen this years ago! <sigh>
+Lynette Young I know, I was being sarcastic 😉 Its obvious that this came from a specific group of haters considering that they hold being gay as something which is wrong. Its sad but like you said "If this is supposed to make me not like the Girl Scouts, then it failed." 😀
I do not even read the ingredients, I just eat.
I always give them an extra dollar per box if they promise to organize for an online encyclopedia improvement merit badge. #gendergap
The thing is, I don't think anyone is actually pro-abortion…I mean, I don't think any woman actually WANTS to have one.
Oh, I'm jonesing for Samoas now!!
Makes me want to buy these cookies by the case load now.
I will be buying Girl Scout Cookies tomorrow !
Thanks for sharing, had no idea how corupted girl scouts are becoming. Always thought their agenda was soley about young girls, did not know they have a gay and lesbian agenda as well. Why not have a scouting troop for gays and lesbians? You could have boy; girl; then also gay scouts. Everyone could have there own group. I am not a christian conservative. I will buy cookies too. But it does seem messed up to me. Former scout.
But comrade, the cookies do not belong to all of us in the village . . .
The only thing I object to is this New Age stuff. I do not want my Thin Mint money going to whale songs and soy candles.
I didn't know until recently but you can donate boxes to soldiers overseas too.
This makes me want to buy more cookies, they teach lessons of acceptance and understanding. To bad there is nobody with young daughters in my office, oh the perils of working in IT.
+Christine Paluch IT folks don't procreate?
+Karon Mack There's lots of folks don't want to buy cookies but want to help others. Gift of caring from NH Seacoast has sent thousands of cases of cookies to troops via the Air Guard base here over the years, all paid for by folks who donate.
After seeing this I think I'm going to donate to the girl scouts this year. We need more strong, independent, informed women in the world, and I'm happy to see that the girl scouts are filling this need in communities where parents, schools and the church fail in their educational duties.
+Rod Thorell Most of the IT workers in my office are foriegn born. They have children, but they are not are either too young or too old for girl scouts. Also the women in the office are limited in number, especially the developers. In my previous jobs people brought their kids in during cookie season, but it was while I was working for nonprofits, which is a very different environment.
I'm thrilled that the GSA believes in helping me raise tolerant and accepting young women
~Jenn, proud mother of a Brownie Scout
I will be buying more boxes this year for sure!
More Girl Scout cookies for me.
+Christine Paluch Sorry, was probably too snarky in tone. We are a software company, but have no shortage of cookies. One of the single project managers usually buys a couple cases and has them in his office (although only for a few days once everyone knows they are there.)
yes more here too!
No one should let this stop them from buying cookies. All in all, GSA is a positive org. Buying cookies does not exactly mean you're promoting tolerance. Although being tolerant of people who are different from you isn't a bad thing.
+Rod Thorell Its okay every office I have worked in has been a little bit different. I didn't find the comment snarky at all.
I already preordered 10 boxes (hey, thin mints freeze really well!)
+Rugger Ducky yes they do. My wife likes to keep those in the fridge and eat them cold!
My daughter has a goal to sell 2500 boxes. Let me know how many you want.
The girl scouts turning chicks into lesbians is not news…
tsk tsk +Marshall Ebright – we're not supposed to sell them online 🙂
My daughter's goal is a lot more modest – 300 boxes. Good for your girl!
Yay Girl Scouts! :))
i would like to +1 this but i'm afraid it will be seen as a negative thing. i'm glad they support and fund all of this, it's the world these girls are growing up in! you can't make decisions in life without having options. i do not know why this is such a negative campaign, so +1 for the girl scouts. 🙂
Oh, a +1 here goes to the person who posted, not the shite they posted from. 😉
mmm cookies. :)~
This is actually awesome. Thanks for sharing and I am def going to buy some GS cookies this year.
+1 for the post not for what is actually on the paper lol
ill be sure to buy twice the amount of girl scout cookies now. every bite not only tastes delicious, it also supports great causes!
i'm pretty sure whoever created this article may have had their plan to boycott girl guides cookies backfire…
yesss… even more reason to pig out on girl scout cookies!
Perhaps I'm confused.. And the problem with this is…?
I think this year for the 100 year anniversary I will pledge to eat 100 thin mints! Who's with me?
~proud leader of 26!
My recent motivation for getting more GS cookies this year was the attempt by one GS to discourage people from doing so in protest over the inclusion of a transgender girl in one of the GS troops earlier this year. I think that girl's attempt has backfired quite a bit…
+1 to your comment and -100000 to the pic
TL;DR, bring me my thin mints now, please.
When I read this, I see anger. Not my own, but from the people who wrote this. They seem very upset that there is an organization out there that is educating girls away from dumb, subservient roles. Publishing this outs them as angry, hateful rednecks.
Wow. I guess the Boy Scouts could take a lesson or two.
+Eugene Smiley True story.
wow so GSA wants girls to do more than just run around barefoot cleaning and cooking. I want my GS COOKIES even more now thanks
This is a very confusing bit of propaganda–no matter whose "side" it is for…*scratches head, walks away*
After translating the clearly biased messaging into something unbiased, I wholly approve all of these things. Go Girl Scouts!
I think you westerns need a bit of Stalin and Soviets to beat this political activism and social stuff shit out ouf you perverted minds.
Parents supposed to educate children, not to pass them to the various girls or boys organisations.
Great way to use the Girl Scouts for political gain. Oh the shame of it.
Would buy one, this sounds like a lot of fun.
Buying extra cookies this year.
Reading the OP I take it buying cookies from the Girl Scouts you're supporting gays/lesbians, killing babies, and boys who cross dress.
Why would the Girl Scouts take a political stand at all? Gays and lesbians? Where's the "connect" here???
Abortions? What?
Boy Georges going cloak and dagger and the Girl Scouts okaying that?
Oh "boy"…
Some one wrote that this is a propaganda piece. Are the bullets true? Are the GS, or rather those that run the GS, actually participating and/or supporting the things listed in the bullets?
Does any of this really matter when the cookies are so damn good?
+Bob Sweeten I believe, as with any piece like this, they're loosely based in half truths, exaggerations, poorly extruded conclusions, etc to get social conservatives (in this case) enraged over basically nothing.
+Mark Barreda not sure if you're joking but you could take a page from the swedish scout movement and fix the "problem" with transexuals in the "wrong" group. We don't have boy- and girl scouts. We have scouts!
Splitting scouts in genders is just a silly assed notion. It belongs with the burqas and is insulting to both men and women.
+Tobias Harms Since the Boy Scouts were founded post-WWI the values are from that era courtesy of a British General, Robert Baden-Powell.
Ryan O'Neill, that is what I was wondering. Half the time the "propaganda" is, like you said, to enrage the conservatives and to soothe the liberals.
