That is the only question I ever have for the amazing ladies at my son's preschool / daycare. I need sufficient warning when I pick him up from school. It's like Jekyll and Hyde – nap or no nap? Is he going to be sweet or crazy?!
Helicopter parents must be drooling over the prospect of getting updates on their snowflakes every 7.35 minutes.

A cool way to give you peace of mind and not miss out on your child's day either 😉
Seriously! Naps are CRITICAL. Also, how long was the nap and most importantly– when did he wake up?
When daughter 2 was in her first day care, I worked right across the street. I could have lunch in the nursery with her, rock her, play with her. We moved and the new day care kept an hourly log. While nice to have, it seemed a bit much. I needed to know if she'd slept, if she'd had any difficulty with food/drink, if she'd played well and made friends. Was there any trouble? If so, what type?
Every 7 minutes? Nah, I think that's a bit much for me.
But, I didn't miss out on first steps, first words, that kind of thing. Maybe it is more important to those who have high-stress jobs? I don't know.
The 'every 7 minutes' think was my own interjection. Sadly I know of parents who micro/hyper manage their toddler's lives. Kids have to learn things on their own and sometimes that means getting a few scraped knees.
So when are the caregivers supposed to be giving any actual care if they're updating these reports all the time?

My daughter's daycare would call me if she napped. They were excited because it only happened about once every three months.

Seems a bit excessive to me!! Wow. In a few years we will all wonder why our kids are so very dependent on us!! Lol!

To be honest, I can't really relate to this as I was lucky enough to be at home to look after my kids. I was thinking about those who have to leave their kids with day care centres.. must be worrying..

When my kids were in daycare I called them all the time. The staff was amazing; run by the city hospital and most there were offspring of the hospital workers. Best security in the entire city too. Sooooo, I adjusted.
