What's wrong with narrowing down your market? This will only help. If you resonate with women then your market is going to be women. The more specifically you can define your potential client the better off you are. Otherwise you are practicing shot in the dark marketing and mostly missing your target.

And actually, in a meeting I was in last week in Madrid, a very big media group here said they were trying to find a web to appeal to women 35 – 50yrs because they are rapidly seen as the most challenging but at the same time most potentially profitable (ad-wise) demographic group. Yeah! I thought inside 🙂 And also phew that it was 50 and not 45 (being 46 😉 )
I don't mind when things are marketing to women. What I don't like is when marketers insult women by only showing women doing things like making shopping lists, as if women do not have careers; or emphasize how simple and easy an item is to use, as if women could not understand anything that is "complex" with extra features.
Why is it the researchers are always surprised that women make most of the financial decisions in the household, initiate the large purchases, and often make the larger salary…yet mortgage and financial applications still list the woman as "Spouse." How about Co-applicant — or better yet: Applicant.
+Lynette Young Marketing to Women was never a bad move I think. I cannot imagine who would claim such nonsense.
The fact that women in most Households are the ones budgetting should be reason enough, but there are obviously lots of other factors as well 🙂
sorry your sick, hope you feel better soon
