Today is the first day of summer and the first day both my kids are home for summer break. (In fairness, my 5 year old is in preschool and goes back Monday.)
Rearranging schedules to accommodate kids at home takes a bit of juggling as a business owner. I realize it’s much easier that I am my own boss rather than having to clock in at someone else’s company. I made a calendar for the entire summer that helps my 11 year old see what her weeks will look like – summer camp, a California trip, days in my office and pool days (where I bring my laptop to the country club and let her swim while I work).
With the drastic shift in schedules, my kids seem to think especially when I’m working from home that I am able to pull whatever food they want out of the fridge on a whim. Sadly this is not the case. I made up this quick ‘menu’ of what they can expect to find at the Young Home Restaurant.
