When going to any client meeting – or hopefully an investor meeting – I always wear a dress. (That goes for talks on a stage too.) Even though I work during the day in yoga pants, dressing the part is crucial for me.
Now all I need is more investors <grin>…

Well here's a grin instead ))
Great timing on this share +Lynette Young! I was just going through my wardrobe this weekend, and thinking about the need to have a few pieces I can use for the increasing number of consulting meetings I've got in the calendar.
i have some pieces for the first meeting or two, but need more clothes for repeat visits
I used to have loads of formal suits and dressy separates – in my previous career, I never knew when I would have to have a meeting with senior govt officials or make a presentation to ministers. I donated and consigned a lot of it when I changed careers, and like you, don't need to dress up at all most of the time.
We just had a great workshop on fashion and image at our Breathe Now conference, which got me thinking though, that I do in fact, have this other "head of company" role I have to dress for!
I wear a suit almost everywhere I go for business. But wear jeans and a t-shirt at the office. I just get dressed up when I go out then come back and back to jeans again. I'm fortunate that the office is literally across the street. Gotta love mixed residential/commercial areas.
