Why? Because I just made it up, it seemed like fun! Want to join in? I often refer to numerous Google products such as Google Books but don't actually use them, I have decided to kick off #TryGoogle .
From Saturday July 28th until Saturday August 4th (no particular 'times' or timezones – it's just for fun) I'm going to:
1. Randomly pick a Google product from the approximately 60 they have going and explore it
2. See what I like about it, don't like, think can be fixed, ways to incorporate it into my life/work etc.
3. Listen to other people's opinions about the products they find
4. Use the #TryGoogle hashtag to talk about it.
If you want to play along, post your ideas and thoughts on your own stream (post public) & read what others have to say by following the hashtag. Easy-peasy!
Earlier this morning I accidentally clicked on Google Shopping from the black bar menu above. HEY! I had never really seen that before and thought it was cool, even though for online shopping I'm a diehard Amazon Prime & VIP Zappos member. I need to explore to grow, and this seemed like a fun way to do it.
For any cynics out there, no, Google didn't put me up to this or pay me anything. I just thought it would be fun and help me broaden my knowledge and experience in my profession (being a geek).

I like it! They have a lot of products and I use only a few. I'm not married to ANY company for a solution… if I see a better implementation out there to make my life easier in some way, I'm all for it. Like you, I've only explored a few of their products… some "rejecting" for other alternatives, but there may be some time for revisiting.
That's a great idea. Occasionally I've clicked the "Even More" under the More link just to see what's there, but haven't gone to the trouble of exploring further.
I really like scholar for finding good sources for papers
I really think Google is a company that puts out products that are good for social media and other internet interest, this is what american company's use to do.
And the best thing is most of their services are free
Don't they have a Search Engine somewhere? URL anyone? 😉
Here is a full list of Google products http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Google_products

+Lynette Young I don't think there is a Google service that I've not used but I'll play along (oh, okay there is one: http://www.google.com/fusiontables/Home/).
