Pinterest people, Pinterest…. and by people I mean people & businesses.

100% agreement! Pinterest is not only addictive for the average user, but also a fantastic free resource for any business.
+Lori Friedrich I do find it interesting that the Pinterest terms of use state this:
General Prohibitions
You agree not to do any of the following:
…
Use the Site, Application or Site Content for any commercial purpose or the benefit of any third party or in any manner not permitted by these Terms;
…
Which seems to imply that it's not for business use, unless I'm interpreting that incorrectly.
Interesting. +Chris Brogan & I were just having a convo with a few others about Pinterest the other day. Most of us weren't really into it. Thanks for sharing a new perspective on how it can be of value 🙂
Pinterest is the main reason I switched my blog design to focus more on the images in the posts instead of the text. It's all about the visual traffic!
I'm guessing no affiliate links etc. It's a huge traffic driver for websites though.
love the site, but HOW do I get an invite?????
+Amy Ray visit my profile & send me a msg – I'll send you an invite 😉
LOL +Jacqueline Carly I need to school +Chris Brogan in the ways of the Pinterest. 😉 I was told it was a 'chick' thing (I fell on the floor, then informed the person that said it how they could kick ass on their blog). I can't even tell you how much traffic (=business) it's driven to a good number of my clients. It only works if you have a visual medium to work with though…
+Lynette Young You can change the URLs attached to the images you pin, so it's theoretically possible to create a "free" web catalog that drives to an ecommerce site for ordering. I wonder if that is allowed under their terms?
+Lynette Young I haven't pinned anything yet, but +Chris Brogan has. Mostly Batman stuff 🙂 Also, I have a personal blog that I already do something similar with for myself, so doing it on pinterest seems redundant to me, especially time wise.
+Jacqueline Carly I write here and on my blog – mostly redundant, but I have a bigger following here than on my site 😉 The benefit with Pinterest isn't using it as a 'pin board' to keep your stuff on, it's the Stumble Upon effect of the community finding, pinning (sharing with their followers) and clicking on pictures (leading them back to your content, on your home base).
good job guys
+Lynette Young The blog I'm referring to is private, and it is actually formatted in a pinterest type way, so for me it would be like having two pinterests 🙂 I totally get what you're saying about the benefit, but for me right now it's a mental bandwidth choice. There are just too many communities to be on, share on, etc that it gives me a headache. 🙂
