I recently saw Gloria Steinem (my first time) this past fall while attending a women's conference with +Cecily Kellogg & +Dresden Shumaker. Before Gloria's keynote Cecily, Dresden and I were hanging out in the speakers lounge and got to watch an interview she taped. We were all lucky enough to get a few minutes time to chat with her privately, but Cecily is the only one that got a photo!!
These issues first surfaced with my mother's generation, and I'm holding strong to support my daughter's generation. No matter what your view on feminism is, the fact is there are countries across the globe who's women and children need help.

Our country as well. I greatly admire her work at the Women's Media Center, which she helped found, if I'm not mistaken. The WMC is doing some very important and exciting work to, as they put it, make "women visible and powerful in media". A worthy cause to be sure.
She's speaking in Sydney soon along with Germaine Greer and Clem Bastow. Unfortunately the ticket prices are prohibitive.
