I'll have to run some Hangout tests later to see how it works & if the tiny keyboard is workable during my trip. Usually when I travel I bring my iPad and a Bluetooth keyboard. My trip this time requires me to do Hangouts (and lots of Hangout on Air's!) and a LOT of writing/typing. The iPad just doesn't cut it for that. I'm a pretty hardcore Apple gal so even switching out to Ubuntu is a stretch for me. I was hoping for a Chromebook to use at SxSW but that doesn't seem in my future.

Hope it works out!

Unity isn't so far off the OSX desktop environment, so shouldn't be too bad for you 🙂
so far i've only crashed one hangout!!
I'm running EasyPeasy on an eee netbook. Eh. I only need browser access while I'm gone so I should be okay.
Looks like a black screen on your SxSW show.
+Shawn Lippert I did that on purpose – blacking out my video feed. I'm not sure if the Internet connection or the drivers for my webcam were causing my video to jump and be jittery, but I didn't want it to distract from the show. Somehow I don't think a big empty screen where my smiling face should have been was better!
I see, I used to have that problem with wireless connections. My internet connection slowed down when more users were logged on, and If you are connecting to a hot spot that has 30 or more users, sending video data over the networked really made it lag cause of the heavy bandwidth use.
I was at a private home, but at SxSW i bring my own MiFi. Last year i had a rock solid connection, here's hoping i do this year as well!
