Honestly I'm on the fence on the brands & G+Community. I'm going to chew on it for the weekend. My first thoughts are that non-profits / cause based entities will do well as well as brands with strong fan bases (+Ford Motor Company, +Coca-Cola, +Huggies) but only for product line brands (not corporate). Typical 'run of the mill' brands not so much. Leave it to me to come up with amazing and unique ideas though… it's kinda what I do all day besides stalking everyone online. (Oh, and wanting to pour a martini early due to client deadlines.)
It does provide a much cleaner experience for customer service/support though (+Comcastcares I'm lookin' at you).
Get on that brands will ya? Or keep calm and call Lynette.

They are spammy trainwrecks at the moment. (Well the larger ones are, at least.)
The larger brands should probably steer clear, or else have people on moderation 24/7.
nice
+Aaron Wood most larger corporate won't touch it until we can get 3rd party / external moderation tools to automate and queue. So there's that.
Yup. Waiting game… engaged. lol
They aren't bad at all if you have a good small group of active engagers that you approve to be members of your community. The very Public community where anyone can join are insane… they are riddled with spam and self-promotional posts. Hopefully Google will tweak the Communities in a year or so. lol
Open / Public communities are a train wreck, like most things that people see and abuse.
hi sweetie
Thanks for reporting, +Lynette Young ! I'll stay tuned while you savour your martini & I take care of my to-do list over here. I really appreciate your digging in and sorting the flowers from the manure. So to speak.
keep calm and carry on diving in in to gold….
I am on the fence too, for digital marketers like me, exposing my buyers and email list to a community is marketing suicide.
I have seen more than a few private posts on G+ referred back to me where G+ consultants bash buying my products in favor of their personal coaching.
Why would I want to expose my buyers and email list members to that by creating a G+ marketing Comm. ?
Your thoughts +Lynette Young?
Although +Jesse Stay did create a Comm to support his G+ Marketing For Dummies book.
I would say that is good use to support in print products.
LOVE THIS! xo
