I would love to connect with old friends from online that I know by their 'handle' but Imm not sure I would be open to new 'friendships' with only nym names.

Do you think this push will damage the dialogue that google+ has become noted for? I don't know if I can have a good conversation with lordfootsniffer85 but, I'll try 😛

Handle This: Google+ Finally Allows Pseudonyms
The Google+ Common Name policy will never be the same. Google now allows both nicknames and full-fledged pseudonyms on Google+.

+Gary Holyoke nym=pseudonym.
whats a nym?
+Gary Holyoke Pseudonym, nickname, etc.
no real name
just trying to get to say I a real person
why brian canada? are you scared people might meet other people in life?
cool can I use my other realname
I'm with you there.
You have no choice but to have real name attached to it. See my last update re: the new policy. It still doesn't work for me.
nym = pseudoNYMs
I don't like it at all. Real names are more personal and help you feel more connected to the people you may be meeting for the first time. I don't want G+ to become another lame hangout for teenagers like facebook.
+Brian Canada That is great if your real name is what people call you in real life. I have an issue where my name is only used on legal documents. When people actually refer to me as 'Julia', I have no clue they are talking to me.
I should be able to display my G+ as Jules Sherred (Julia Sherred). My only option are Julia Sherred, Julia Sherred (Jules Sherred) and Julia "Jules Sherred" Sherred. None of those work, because it won't solve the issue of people calling me by a name that I never respond to in real life.
Hold the fort, folks. You may want to read the post from Googler +Bradley Horowitz. You won't see "fuzzybunnyslippers897" under this policy. –> https://plus.google.com/u/0/113116318008017777871/posts/SM5RjubbMmV
+Julia Sherred No Julia I understand your situation. I'm not talking about common names or the name that you present yourself with in business or to strangers. I'm talking about (for example- off the top off my head) someone named Joe or Joseph introducing himself as "chocolate thunder". That's not cool at all.
My whole point is that an actual name is part of the beauty of G+ and what sets it apart from the other sites.
+Brian Canada Thanks for clarifying 🙂
+Julia Sherred You're welcome. I will refer to you as Jules for now on so I don't get scolded again…kidding. I love your name and your passion. Are we cool now? lol
+Brian Canada Of course we're cool. I asked because I wanted clarification and to understand your position better. Nothing more or less 🙂
thank you
Hi! Ayub, what is up?
In my religious community many more use nyms online than use their real name. The reason: there is still so much discrimination against minority religions in the USA. I use my real name and I've had some really awful things happen to me and my property,. The worst was someone from N. Carolina who was going to 'save' my son from me and the police caught up to her in Wisconsin as she was on her way to my house in Minnesota.
